How projects run

A fixed process, so the price and the timeline stay honest

Most projects follow the same four stages, whether it is a five-page website or a custom web app. The scope changes; the discipline does not. You always know what is being built, what it costs and what happens next.

// discovery → quote → build → launch
/// The four stages

From first call to launch

Business websites typically take two to four weeks. Larger builds are scoped individually.

01
Discovery call
What the business does, who it needs to reach and what the current site or workflow is costing. For software, this includes mapping the process end to end.
WEEK 1
02
Scope & quote
A written scope, fixed price and design direction before work starts. Changes are quoted separately, never discovered at invoice time.
WEEK 1
03
Build
Design and development, with working reviews rather than a big reveal at the end. Sites are tested on phones, tablets and desktops before launch.
WEEK 2–3+
04
Launch & care
Domain, TLS, analytics, forms and checkout tested. Then handover, with an optional care plan for hosting, backups, updates and small changes.
LAUNCH
/// What we need from you

The project moves faster with three things

None of these are blockers — but the projects that run smoothest have them.

A DECISION-MAKER

  • Someone who can approve the direction and the content
  • One point of contact on your side

RAW MATERIAL

  • What you do, where you work, opening hours, services and pricing
  • Existing photos, logo files and any brand assets

HONEST FEEDBACK

  • Tell us what is wrong early
  • A working review is more useful than a perfect opinion at the end
/// Changes & care

What happens when the scope moves

Scope creep is normal. Surprise invoices are not.

Changes are quoted, not absorbed silently.

If you want a new page, a new feature or a different direction after the scope is agreed, it gets a price before work continues. That protects both sides: you know the cost, and the original project does not quietly run over.

Care plans are optional.

A care plan covers hosting, backups, monitoring, dependency updates and a monthly change allowance. The site works without one; you are simply responsible for updates and backups.

Support is direct.

During South Australian business hours, support goes to the person who built the site. There is no ticket queue between you and the answer.

Handover is complete.

Credentials, documentation and access are handed over. There is no proprietary lock-in on a business website, and source code is transferred for custom software.
