Business web apps

Business web apps built to your specification

Somewhere in most businesses there's a spreadsheet doing a job it was never designed for. A booking calendar held together with coloured cells. A quoting process that lives in one person's head. A client portal that's really just an email inbox. Those are the things a web app solves.

CLIENT PORTALS

  • Customers log in to see jobs, invoices, documents or project status
  • Role-based access and secure document handling

BOOKINGS & SCHEDULING

  • Availability rules, staff allocation and reminders
  • Calendar integrations and conflict handling

QUOTING & ESTIMATING

  • Configurable pricing, approval workflows and PDF output
  • Reusable templates and approval history

INTERNAL SYSTEMS

  • Operational dashboards that pull data into one screen
  • Job assignment, checklists, photo capture and time tracking
  • Inventory and order management beyond a spreadsheet

MEMBERS & SUBSCRIPTIONS

  • Gated content, tiers and recurring billing
  • Account management and access control

AUTOMATION & INTEGRATIONS

  • Connect systems that do not talk to each other
  • Remove manual data entry and inter-system glue
/// Discovery

Spec first, code second

The single biggest cause of failed software projects is an unclear scope. A written specification protects both sides.

01 — DISCOVERY WORKSHOP

  • Half a day mapping the current process end to end
  • Who does what, where data comes from and where it goes
  • What breaks, what is manual and what is expensive

02 — WRITTEN SPECIFICATION

  • User roles, features and data model
  • Integrations, security requirements and explicit exclusions
  • The document the build is measured against — yours to keep

03 — FIXED QUOTE

  • Priced against the specification
  • No hourly billing and no “we will see how we go”

04 — DESIGN & BUILD

  • Interface design, then development in two-week blocks
  • Working software to review at the end of each block
  • You see it as it is built, not at the end

05 — UAT & HANDOVER

  • You test against real workflows
  • We fix what is wrong
  • Documentation, admin access and a walkthrough

06 — CARE

  • Hosting, monitoring, security patches and support
  • Ongoing development quoted separately
/// How we build

Owned, documented and maintainable

No proprietary framework that only DaltSync can maintain, and no per-seat licensing.

You own everything.

Source code sits in a private repository in your name. You get full access at handover. There is no proprietary framework that only DaltSync can maintain, and no per-seat licensing.

Security from the first commit.

Authentication with proper password hashing, role-based access control, parameterised database queries, input validation, rate limiting and Cloudflare in front. For anything handling personal or health information, the Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles are designed for upfront.

Built on Cloudflare where it fits.

Cloudflare Workers and Pages for the edge layer, with a database and backend appropriate to the data model. We do not force a fashionable stack onto a problem that does not need it.

Documented, so you are not stuck with us.

Technical documentation, deployment instructions, environment variables and architecture notes are part of the deliverable. If you ever want to take it in-house or to another developer, you can.

/// Local proof

Production systems, not demos

We build and maintain live software from Adelaide.

We have built a browser-based platform with 101 tools — see HelperCrate — and a structured legal-publication platform with navigation and membership at AOSPB. Both are live and maintained.

Web apps are scoped and supported for businesses across Adelaide and South Australia. See service areas.

/// Common questions

Before you ask — probably answered here

DaltSync web apps start at $4,500. Across the market, custom business applications typically run $5,000 to $50,000+ depending on complexity. The main cost drivers are integrations, business logic complexity and the number of distinct user roles.

Sometimes, yes — and we will say so. If a $50/month SaaS product solves 90% of the problem, that is usually the right answer. A custom build makes sense when the process is genuinely specific to your business, when subscriptions are adding up, or when the data itself is the competitive advantage.

Yes. Full source in a repository under your ownership, transferred at handover. No licensing fees, no vendor lock-in.

Scope changes are quoted and agreed before work continues, with the specification updated. It is not a problem — it is better handled explicitly than discovered at the end.

Usually Cloudflare plus a managed database. You can also host it yourself. Hosting costs are separate from the build and typically $20–$100/month for a standard business application.

A care plan covers hosting, monitoring, security patches and support. Ongoing development — new features, iterations — is quoted separately.

Yes, routinely. Send yours or use ours.
